The International Symposium on Vocational Education, Rehabilitation, Employment and Integration to Social Life for Blind and Partially Sighted Women was held in Ankara on October 14-16. The Family and Social Policies Ministry the Disabled and Elderly Services Department, The Education Ministry Special Education and Guidance Department, Turkey Employment Agency, Gazi Universitesi and Turkey Blind Federation were the organisers of the symposium. The three department staff presented their papers. The paper of the Labor Economics Department Head Tuncay Güloğlu was on "The Activities of Turkey Employment Agency on the Employment of the Blind". The paper of the department research assistants Yusuf Ziya Yıldırım and Murat Aydın were, respectively, "The Activities of Regional Governments on the Employment of the Disabled: the ISMEK case" and "The Role and Efficiency of the Government Agencies on the Employment of the Blind".
